Meet Ms. Baker
Where am I from?
I grew up in a small town known as Constantine, Michigan. Located in the southwest corner of the mitten. I attended Alma College and received my bachelors degreee in Elementary Education with two minors in Integrated Science and Social Studies. I also received a ZA Early Childhood endorsement. While attending Alma College, I played four years of collegiate volleyball and was also a part of many different campus and community groups.
My Family
My family consists of my father Tim, who was a middle school social studies teacher for 33 years and coached a variety of sports, but is now enjoying retirement. My mother Chris, is a small business owner of a travel agency in Portage. She has taken our family on many wonderful trips, which allowed us to explore the world. Lastly, my two older brothers are Austin and Aaron. Austin lives in Chicago and works for a sales company and Aaron is a football coach at Olivet College. My family is very important to me, and I am blessed that we are all so close.
Why I choose to teach...
I believe that teachers are some of the luckiest people on the planet. Everyday they are greeted by children who have an opportunity to grow as an individual. As a teacher, I have the opportunity to inspire and create new ideas, knowledge, and vision into their life. When students walk out of my classroom they are going to know how much I care about them through their excitment for learning, and eagerness to want to come back everyday. I believe that every student can learn no matter what the circumstance. The students in my classroom hold what our future will be, and I want to make a differance in our future.
